Wow! It's been more than three months since I last blog here, time flies!
First of all, wish all of you a Happy Belated Chinese New Year! It's the year of the Tiger and I wish all of you as energetic and as healthy as a roaring tiger!
In a foreign country, I can't really feel it's Chinese New Year. I don't know about other cities but Edinburgh is as dull as ever...not even a lion dance performance...how I missed Chinese New Year in Malaysia. One day, I will go back to Malaysia for Chinese New Year.

Ooppss!!
Ooppss!!
This morning, Abigail fell from the bed!!
And it's quite a 'high' bed we have...
The wife woke up early this morning and was preparing Abigail's lunch in the kitchen while Abigail and me were still asleep on the bed. Then suddenly I was awoken by a big 'bang', followed by baby crying...it was my 'golden pineapple' lying on the floor crying...I quickly jump to my feet and 'pick' her up. Hug her so tightly while trying to check if she is ok. The wife rushed in and also help to check.
She stop crying after about 2 minutes and she seemed fine. I guess she had more of a fright rather than feeling sore somewhere.
I do feel that I let her down but on the other hand, I do hope she learnt her lesson and stay away from the edges of the bed. I do think children nowadays are over protected by their parents but that's normal, I feel the same too.
Well, I guess we will have to learn as we go along!

Story #3

Story #2
First of all, wish Abigail Happy 6th Month Birthday! (As the saying goes, past the difficult first 6 months, then many more 'difficult six months' to come..., dreadful!)
Parents arrived at the end of February, the weather was better than when the in-laws were here, but still cold for them. It took them about a month's time to get used to it.
I know that my parents will be here for 4-5 months, and I prepared to 'treasure' every minute and every second of it. Why? When I was 15, my parents left KL to start a business in Mentakab, Pahang. Leaving behind my younger sister and me in KL, studying. They spent 10 years in Pahang. By the time they pack up in Pahang and return to KL, I have already graduated from high school and college, and I was already in Scotland. In other words, we didn't live under the same roof for 20 years.
That's about 2/3 of my life without my parents beside me. That's why I need to spent more time with them, and shower them with as much love and affection as possible. Hoping to make up for all those lost years...
They have been here for almost 4 1/2 months now and I still think that I haven't done enough for them. They are leaving Scotland in two weeks time, and there are so much more I want to give and offer, but so little time...I am gonna miss them so, so much!
Dad, I love you.
Mum, I love you.

Story #1

Three more days and Abigail will be exactly 6 months old, time really flies when you are happy.
A lot of things happened in the last 6 months, and all of them have 'mega' impact on my life. The arrival of Abigail, sparked what came after. Some good, some bad; some happy, some sad.
The in-laws arrived in Edinburgh in December, one month before Abigail's due date. It was winter and it was quite difficult for two elderly people from a hot country to get used to the weather. We bought a Christmas tree and decorated the flat before they arrived, trying to cheer things up. They practically spent the entire winter inside the tiny flat as it was too cold to go out. It snowed a couple of times at the end of January. It was the first time my mother-in-law saw snow. Both in-laws went out to touch and feel the snow...also to take some photos. Wrong move!! Both fell really ill with very bad flu. Old people and flu don't mix. It was so bad they had to catch the next available flight home to Malaysia.
What then? Who is gonna come over and help wife and me and Abigail? A phone call back home solved the problem. My parents packed their luggage immediately, and booked the next available flight out to Edinburgh. Phew, how lucky was I, to have such supportive parents, sisters and brother.
My parents arrived on the 23rd of February, one week after my in-laws left. My niece had to come along cos she was brought up by my mum and she is virtually 'stick' to my mum. Great! I haven't met my niece since she was born, she was 21 months old when she got here. I still remember the day I went to pick them up from the airport: I was waiting at the arrival gate. First, I saw my dad, then my mum, then my niece. When my niece saw me from far, she started running towards me with both arms wide open. I kneel down, open my arms wide waiting to give her a big hug. We hugged, and I nearly cried. It's the first time I met her and she wasn't afraid of strangers? I asked my mum:"Is she always like this?". My mum said:"No. She acted like that because you look like your brother in Malaysia!". She thought I was my brother...how cute was that!?
